On October 17th, Syngress learned that the first edition of “Dissecting the Hack” had a number of pages of plagiarized material. The plagiarism was the work of one member of the project and only in Part 2. In light of this, we have pulled the book and have destroyed any remaining copies we have on hand.
We believe in this project and the author team of Jayson Street and Kent Nabors, which is why we are working with them to create a revised edition with a completely new Part 2. This new Part 2 will be available for free on the official Dissecting the Hack site:

However, if you wish to return your first edition copy to us, we will send you out a copy of the revised edition upon publication in 2010. All you have to do is send the book along with your name and shipping address to:
